Tale
A grieving therapist begins telling his clients exactly what he thinks
Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives, including his own. The Shrinkage movies share the best defining moments of their characters in Season 1 and find out who has the best Harrison Ford impression.
Eventually, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him on the role
When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford-type” character; and he was prepared to audition for people like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should at least pitch him to Ford first, thinking he’d immediately reject him, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been pitched the project, which had piqued the interest of other big-name actors.
Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince her, but he was overjoyed nonetheless
Featured on WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023) I’ve watched the first two episodes and found them engaging. Partly because I think there’s something grounded in reality about a therapist who needs therapy and wants to reach out to his patients to unexpectedly uncover their issues.
This show isn’t for everyone
I also respect the way it’s portrayed – he’s not doing something that other therapists are supposed to do, and that’s very clear. There’s no goofy situations like in other shows like Loot, but it’s still early days and I’ll keep watching.
That being said, I like the depth of the characters, and they don’t feel like caricatures; these are people I want to get to know
